NEW for 2010! The B2 youth bat has grown up. It has taken three years and thousands of hours of lab and field testing to design a bat worthy of the B2 logo. A soft feeling, durable, and high performance bat the B2SL utilizes ComBat’s MAP technology. Extremely tight machining tolerances (+/- .0005”) precisely control both the outer and inner wall bat barrel diameters, this allows ComBat’s engineers to design bat wall thicknesses to maximize barrel trampoline and bat performance. Unique to the B2 is ComBat’s Variable Stiffness Technology which allows for lower barrel wall stiffness on both sides of the normal sweetspot, resulting in an enlarged sweet hitting area. Also found only in the B2 is Blended Fiber Technology, where Arimid fibers ( found in bullet proof vests ) is combine with carbon and glass fibers in varying proportions and precise angles to get more trampoline effect and absorb vibrations resulting in more energy transfer to the ball and greater distance. What this really means is, longer barrel lengths and lighter bats resulting in maximum allowable performance. The first thing you notice when you see the new B2SL is the huge length of the barrel. The first thought that comes to mind is “WOW!!!” These bats truly have the longest barrel lengths in the industry. This is really a mammoth jump in hitting area and sweet spot.
